Did any sweet sugary liquid find it's way in the coupler ?
At any rate connect the belt rapidly for a minute or so...I'd try that if I had this concern. Also, I'd check connections under the seat. Sent from my TMAF035G using Tapatalk |

Not that I'm aware of... I do have some spray electrical cleaner. I might just literally spray each connector real good and clip and unclip rapidly as suggested. I did notice in the backseat the center seat belt coupler is non-functional. It will not clip in back there, is that potentially the cause of the light?

Well I have some positive news lol. I'm happy to report I took your advice and used some electrical contact cleaner spray and sprayed liberally in every seat belt connector in the vehicle rapidly latching an unlatching as you suggested. The light on the dash didn't go off, it's still illuminated but it did get my seatbelt latch functioning again in the center rear. I guess the latch or something was stuck open. So now all the seat belts work... Thank you again for your help and your suggestion. All the wiring looks solid and everything looked plugged in. It's just weird that I have a seatbelt light on the dash but my scan tool won't pick it up and tell me about it... It acts like everything is okay

I'm the idiot who needs to get a better scan tool. I used my neighbors scan tool and it reported a seatbelt fault. E444 K Can line fault driver side. Is what the scan tool said. What that means I have no idea. Did a little Google search and didn't really return a lot

I ask because BMW codes are “hex” (6 digits)…and if you can get what the hex code is…you may be able to find some info at this site (save it anyways for any future need for code info) it will also give info for the 5 digit P codes (OBD II): https://bmwfault.codes/

Of all the things one could code, this isnt in my top 1000. I will admit that my view is influenced by losing my father to not wearing a seat belt.... |

It was literally the driving force for me to download the app and start coding my car. There's always two sides to the coin I live in rural Oklahoma. In the mid 1990s my sister's best friend got into a rollover accident in a bar ditch and was trapped in her vehicle by the seat belt. And she burned to death. Even though that's an argument to not be forced to wear your seatbelt. I do believe seat belts save way more lives than they take.. that largely they are a good thing. On the other hand I'm a big freedom of choice person it seems silly to me that a manufactured item should harass me into making a choice to wear my seatbelt or not. Whenever I started driving in Oklahoma there were no seatbelt laws. Now we do have seatbelt laws but what's even more silly is that I can be forced to wear my seatbelt but a guy can fly past me doing 100 mph on a motorcycle with no helmet and it's perfectly legal. Because he has the right to choose why can't i?
