Charging issues
New battery fitted and registered. After starting the car the battery current measurement at ibs is around 30a discharge (measured with bimmerlink and verified with clamp meter). If I disconnect the battery and reconnect it then restart the engine the battery shows it’s charging fine. Leave overnight and I’m back to not charging. I do get an error 4A56: 4A56 power management battery (Layer_PMBATT) Anybody got some ideas on where the fault lies l? Thanks in advance |

Feels like IBS failure.
I hadn't worked on myself but I read that it's pissui to disable the ibs by unplugging the control wire (blue) and alternator will just run always like old school. I wouldn't recommend long term but it could get you operational while waiting for the part. What is the parameter called you use for monitoring current on bimmerlink I'd love to add to my dashboard.
