Blew a coil yesterday
Pulled the coil and it was full up some white dust, no oil, moisture or water in the tube. Tried to pull the boot of but the plastic part disintegrated. Ordered 6 new Bosch. |

Car is new to you and you've never gotten around to any basic maintenance?

I do not consider ignition coils as regular maintenance items. I have 3 other vehicles with higher mileage and the coil (packs) have never been replaced except a single pack after a valve cover job where I did not replace a spark plug tube seal and oil leaked into the tube. All other are original with mileage ranging from 160k-210k miles.
Looks like the X5 needs them replaced at around 100k. Now I know. Quote:
