Need help identifying a part

Hi All,

So I am in the middle of my rear differential replacement and I am having trouble identifying a part needing to be replaced per my mechanic.

I did find the seal as shown.

But I am having issue identifying which part the metal ring is on the diagrams.

I thought it was the dust cover shield (inner) on the output axles, but I just looked under and both of them look same same.

So I am unsure where it goes to on the diagram as it appears the dust cover shields are fitted on the output axles themselves and come part of the axles.

You can see one of the metal rings is more chewed up than the other. It's slightly misshaped so wanting to replace it while everything is out.

Thanks!
