You can punt on the gasket if you add two bottles of ATP AT-205. It re-softens rubber gaskets and I've seen as much as 80% reduction in oil leakage. Right after COVID the stuff was impossible to buy but now it's back. Not sure if it's availability in your country but look for it. –awr– Using Tapatalk VIP on iPhone

Thanks Andrew, that's good to know.
I've never tried getting the No.8 Coil pack out yet, I hear that's 'fun' ! Also thanks for the info on ATP AT-205. It is available here in France (I'm a Brit, but live in France, and the car is a German import) I'll probably do the head cover gaskets (and timing covers too) first. But will definitely try that if I start getting any valve seal smoke problems. I love the car, and it's in great condition, only done 80K Miles, but it's at that age that all the rubber seals are going off. Just as well that I'm able to do most jobs as dealership workshop costs would kill it off ! |

I leaned about AT-205 first as a way to protect CV boots and ball joint rubber from dry rot.
