Official figures are 6.8s for E53 4.4i, and 6.4s for E70 4.8i.

The difference between the two cars is +7.4" in lenght, +2.4" in width, +408lbs in curb weight (incl. 3rd row seats), +35HP in power, +24 lb-ft in torque, and this resulting in -0.4s in 0-60mph acceleration.

Release

I'm a little confused, is the speculated November arrival for Europe only, with April 28 being for US, or will the states be getting it at the same time?

As I understand it US and Canada is November/December.

UK is April 28th I assume Europe is the same.

The UK flyers I have are for release on April 28th but I will be invited along to dealer some time in November to spec my car and see the 3.0d SE Demo.

Guess the US production has already started and the US customers are going to get their orders in Nov/Dec 06. How many E70 do you think they can make from now till Dec 06?

Any idea as to when they will start manufacturing the E70 for UK/Europe delivery? Jan 07 (so that they won't get it until late April 07)?

Since its introduction, the BMW X5 has been the performance benchmark in its class. Now, the all-new 2007 X5 Sports Activity Vehicle improves upon that success in virtually every way. Its new 350-hp V-8 and 260-hp inline-six are mated to smooth STEPTRONIC automatic transmissions that delivers faster shifting and can actually adjust to the way you like to drive.

Intelligent lightweight materials and construction techniques have enabled us to make the all-new X5 larger and more comfortable without significantly adding weight. Luxurious amenities abound, including a standard 205-watt CD-audio system with MP3-player input, an available rearview camera and optional 20-way power Napa Leather heated multicontour front seats. And, for the first time ever, the X5 is available with an optional third-row seat.

Of course, these are just a few of the revolutionary ideas that the all-new X5 SAV brings to its class.
