Received an email from BMW on the new e70 today

We've expanded on a great idea.

The original X5 was a groundbreaking vehicle when it was introduced in 1999. Never content to rest on their laurels, our engineers undertook a seven-year challenge and worked the impossible: they built an SAV that holds even more great ideas.

Look inside the all-new 2007 X5 and you'll discover more room with a new optional third-row seat, so up to seven people can enjoy a more spacious interior. There's greater power, too, with two new engine options offering better performance. You'll also find enhanced active safety features, like Dynamic Stability Control with Brake Drying and rollover sensor, for improved handling and driving dynamics. The optional Head-up Display helps keep your eyes on the road, not on the dash. A host of choices from Napa Leather to ventilated seats gives you more ways to personalize your X5. Comfort, convenience and more - it's everything you'd expect from BMW, expanding on a new idea.

Get a closer look at the thinking - and the passion - that redefines BMW's flagship SAV at bmwusa.com/newx5

The all-new BMW X5: more room for everything. Except improvement.

Yes....I have both an E53 X5 and E46 M3. The E53 X5 I have has the "regular" leather which is a little more coarser and the E46 M3 has the nappa leather which is more smoother, a little more softer. Both require good leather care, but the nappa would probably require a little more TLC. I think the 4.8iS came with nappa leather and now BMW is offering nappa leather to both the E70 X5 3.0si & 4.8i.

Adjustable height is probably not going to be part of the 2007 E70 X5. We'll see if they offer it in later model years.

I had Nappa on the M3 and I wasn't too impressed, its very soft BUT looks like vinyl on certain surfaces (floor console etc)

Thats the first picture, the one above that is, I have seen of all the recent press pics that I really dont like. I just hope its the lighting. My dealer here in the UK got his dealer pack with everything stating a 28th April 2007 launch. But invites to spec up in November for those on the list of deposits.

it's not freaking out. they are expressing legitimate concerns. not having adjustable height control in this vehicle is a MAJOR screw up by BMW, imo and in the opinion of many others. i'm actually going to go test drive a cayenne turbo just because of this and give that car some consideration.

Oh, I don't know about that...... with the problems I am having with my suspension not working, the dealer says there is nothing wrong with it, BMW (oz) says they believe the dealer and no one knows why it doesn't work, I for one will never be having it again.

PS. I wondered how they got all those detailed action photos but I'm thinking they lifted them as stills straight from the videos, then applied some filters... NICE
