Airbags for the third row?

Does anyone know if the upper airbags to prevent head injuries extend to the third row? If not, I would consider it a major omission.

I believe that they are optional equipment for the UK market.

Um I think the head curtain airbags would likely be extended to the 3rd row. Unfortunately, BMW seems to be moving away from the door-mounted torso side airbags

Most (if not all) current BMW's have door mounted airbags as standard equipment in the front and as optional equipment in the rear, this includes the E70.

However, as far as the third row is concerned, I seem to remember reading in either the press info or the standard/optional equipment lists that the curtain airbags are for the front and second rows only. If it really ends up that way and the third row does not get any curtain and/or side airbags it would be a shame.

Not on the E90. They cite that the "curtain airbags provide enough protection for the rear passengers" to not necessitate a torso side airbag, an omission that bugs me.
