2007 X5 electronic folding mirror retrofit
For the previous model there was a description/a kit of sorts described here: http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/e...-retrofit.html I need this retrofitted to my 2007 X5 FF41 (E70) (got it tuesday 29 August 2007), as there was a mixup with the 430/431 codes in the order. I simply must have it as all my previous BMWs had it and was used daily. My dealer has a preliminary parts-qoute @ about $ 5000 - five grand (!!!!!??!!!!!!) plus labour....! This is so insane I'm unable to take it seriously! I am still awaiting quotes from other BMW partners, so this might go down a bit. I hope someone can provide more info as to whether or not there is a kit, and if so the part number(s)/cost. If not what exactly is required? Morten

Are you saying you E70 was ordered and the folding mirror option omitted??
Not clear what the codes are you posted.

So the client advisor ordering your car did not order everything that comes with it. I am sure you did not instruct him to omit the folding mirrors.
So the dealership will not cover their error??? BTW: Sorry you did not get all you expected...

Hi,
I'm not able to find out why this mishap occurred and the qoute is not yet finalized, so it might end up being "reasonable". As of now BMW does not seem to have a kit. Perhaps in a year or two - or not at all. In any case I cannot wait. But I also do not want to pay $5000 for the parts. So, how to get the parts at a reasonable price. What is that? I'm happy to pay half - $2500 + labour! Hopefully you, or someone who reads this, have access to or can obtain a pricelist for the necessary parts to retrofit. I need to know the retail price - not the customer price. Perhaps I can import the parts and have them retrofit. Morten
