Is the last picture in that guide a space gray? That looks really good. Also saw no Tobacco leather until Dec 2006.

OK, I need some help... The very first or last picture in the brochure....
1) what color is that?
2) What is the silver covering on the "running board"? is that standard?
3) which interior is that? Nappa?

thanks

Curtis

I think it's sand beige interior, not sure if napa with space grey exterior. I'm sure someone will correct me if Miss Information is wrong again. Those are OEM running boards, not standard.

The color selection sucks. Reminds me of Volvo colors from the 80's

You are right, the color selection of the interior is pretty boring, imo. Even the current 3-series and the X3 have more choices then this E70.

A couple of random thoughts...

There is a space saver spare standard for X5's without 3rd row seating. Run flats AND a spare??? Maybe the run flats can be ditched? Who sells 285/40-20 and 315/35-20 replacement runflats? I couldn't find any on the web. Tirerack doesn't stock them yet.

The 20's come in Style 214. Yuck. It's too bad they didn't opt to make 20" Style 209's.

Deep Green and Mineral Green are the ugliest colors offered on a BMW in decades.

The MS Flight Simulator joystick tranny lever looks just too wonky and not very suitable as a hand rest. How exactly does it function in Steptronic mode?

Actually, if you ever drove a E46 M3 with SMG or E60 M5, you'll see how it will work. You can tap the level forward and back and it will go up & down a gear. If you tap the level to the right, it will toggle between automated mode and manual mode.

i'm almost positive the model shown in the ordering guide is space grey with sand beige interior, since titanium silver isn't available with a beige interior. I think it's by far the best color combo for the new X5. I also think the 20 inch Style 214 y-spokes are the only rims with any appeal, the other styles look undersized and boring. So, i would configure my X5 just like the ones in the ordering guide.
