The E70 no doubt will be much improved, and while I think the styling from the rear is much improved, and the side profile has evolved nicely, IMO the headlights shout "Volkswagen!". They really lost something here. Additionally, the top mesh strip below the kidneys creates a very unfinished looking line.

different colors show the lines differently. the ultimate comparision will be exact same color in both vehicles and comparing the same 3.0 vs. 3.0 or 4.4 vs. 4.8 etc. I like them both. Interested to see what they do t the 4.8is replacement... maybe it will get 21 inch wheels and an agressive body kit with performance numbers in the sub 5.5 sec range. When that baby comes out then park it next to the current 4.8is to see what it really looks like. Curtis

I remember someone refering to this as a postal slot! It realy does look like the hood was left unfinished in the front below the kidneys.

As far as I can tell, the E70 looks more 'modern' compared to the E53..not better.

black bumpers

Personally, I am looking forward to the added practicality of the black plastic rear bumper. I have had to paint my rear bumper on both of my X5s due to people scratching it when parking too close to me in car parks. The black bumper should (hopefully) prevent me having to do this in future.

I think the styling evolution is fairly subtle compared to say, the new ML vs. the prior generation ML... particularly from the rear - it takes a trained eye to notice the difference upon casual glance.

The new ML looks pretty bad.....the front still shouts "hyundai" to me.
