2nd Row Seating

I'm still confused. I don't want 3rd Row Option. But all of the pics on the net so far are about the 3rd row. On these pics the 2nd row seats look weird, weird I mean by thin and unpadded for comfort.

Can someone who gets to see it in person please comment on rear seating on a 2nd row vehicle only not with the 3 row. Are the seats like the current model hard and firm and bouncy over normal roads or has the whole ride become softer so it's more pleasant to sit in the rear?

If you order comfort seats in front why can't they give you comfort seats in the 2nd row.

ALSO I wonder if BMW is making 2 different types of 2nd row seating, one kind for vehicles that are ordered without 3rd row and another kind of 2nd row seating for vehicles with the 3rd row.

When you opt for just 2nd row seats it seems they would be permanent seats that don't move so are those padded more for comfort? So would they put different type rear seats for 2nd row only?

1. The rear seats are indeed softer and more comfortable. The ride is ALSO more comfortable so this makes for a much better experience. (Particularly if your a CA stuck in the back on most husband/wife test drives!) ;-)

2. Because it's BMW and whatever they say, goes. :-(

3. Yes the seats in the non 3rd row seat E70 do not move, but they appear to be the same cushions. The only thing that appears to be different is the anchoring mechanism. But remember, I'm not an expert...I just pretend to be one on TV.
