Faced with a hard choice

3 SUV's, o excuse me...SAV's are all options for me. Price really isn't a matter though i don't want to spend more than $75K. The 3 choices are the x5 4.8i with all packages for around $70K, the Range Rover Sport Supercharged for $73K, everything coming pretty much standard but i added the dvd player, and finally the new facelifted 2008 Porsche Cayenne S, the current price of the S i built in porsche.com/usa was about $71k....

i have a X5 4.4i right now 04 and its an awesome car, but looking for a new SAV to replace it in a year or two...so any feedback would be great!@#

4.8 is the best bet. There is one in PA right now brand new going for 67K.

Just a hunch...but on an X5 board you might get an overwhelming suggestion to go with the 4.8

Lots of info here on just what you asked
heres one link - 4.8 Vs. Cayenne

some more links here. I don't have any personal experience other than I drove the Cayenne S. It felt big and slow and I didn't like the interior - test drive was only five minutes because I didn't want to drive it anymore.

Buddy of mine owned the X for 4 years, traded it for the S, has had it for 2 years and says he wants to get rid of it for another X. He says the S handles slightly better at 100+ other than that he thinks the X is much better. I've driven both quite a bit and prefer the X (go figure). No experience with the RR, great looking car, but it's not going to perform like the Porsche or X even though straight line times are fairly close. RR also ranks highest on most problems per 100 vehicles. BMW doesn't build them like Toyota either, but you'll still probably have better luck.

If you have aspirations of traveling off-road though I'd rank them in reverse order of what I just said... but who really goes rock climbing in a 75k car?
