Guys.

Have you noticed on the VIN it is E43 and not E70 as supposed to be. Pls correct me if I am worng.

FE43 Is a V6 code I believe the V8 is FE83.

The engineering series code (E53, E70, etc.) does not show up in the VIN.

The first 3 digits are for the manufacturer (4US, 5UF, WBA, WBS, etc. have been used for BMW, depending on the model and where it is assembled) and the next 4 digits are the model code (FE43 for 6-cyl US spec E70, FE83 for 8-cyl US spec E70).
