Congrats on your NEW E70!!! It looks really sweet
I see that you have the active steering, how is it? My question is after your made the corner do you have to kind of turn the steering wheel back to straighten the car or the steering wheel will automatically straighten it for you like when you driving a "regular" car (example: everyone with the 3, 5, 6 or 7 series should know after cornering you just let go of the steering wheel and the car will straighten itself even when you turn the corner really fast). The reason why I ask is because right now I'm still waiting for the auto tailgate option to be available so I still have some times to decide whether I should get that option or not but if it works well when cornering then I should consider getting that option. Thanks and enjoy your new ride! Last edited by mazinkaizer; 12-24-2006 at 02:00 AM. |

Enjoy your rocket and please drive safely though ....
For people in Australia, we have to wait till April 2007 before we can see the physical car in a car dealer showroom. Your pictures posted are really good. I love to see some night shots with both exterior and interior lights ON. |

I'm contemplating options for a new X5 and was wondering if you could comment on the following: Ride Quality - How does the sport suspension (4.8) ride in comparison to the 3.0i (if you had opportunity to drive the 3.0). If you haven't driven the 3.0, can you comment on the ride quality. I'm looking for a sporty, but compliant ride. I'm not after a vehicle that hops off the pavement when it encounters a small stone. I'd really like to talk to someone who has driven an X5 with Dynamic Drive (EDC, etc.) as the dealer is telling me that this option gives you the best of both worlds - great handling and compliant ride when not driving aggressively.Tracking - Have you noticed any tramlining with the large wheels and tires? Do you have the active suspension? Thanks, Grover |

I drove the 3.0 first but then had to wait until my 4.8 came in to see how it compared. I feel that the 4.8i with the sport package rides very well. There is definitely more roll and less compliance with imperfections in the road without the sport package, EDC, etc. The ride has 19" wheels which I thick will have a smoother ride than the 20" although the 20s look great. When in sport mode, there is some increase in the rougness of the ride but not significant. I also have active steering and am getting use to it and am glad I got it. The 3.0 I drove did not have it. In my opinion the sport package would be a must to make me happy and is well worth it
