Congratulation on your new ride. I am picking up my 4.8 next week. Same exterior color with Black Interior. I wish mine had a sport pkg but couldn't find one before end of the year...

Looks Great!!! Is that Titainium Silver or Space Gray?
So hard to tell from pics....

I'm looking at pretty much the same options for mine - leaning towards titainium but not sure if it'll work with Tobacco interior (I know it's going to either look great or I'm really going to regret it) which I really like - at least in pictures .... Also thinking about springing for the 20's on the wheels if I can get some definitive answers on RFT Winter tires for next winter...
Glad to hear the HUD is worth it. The demos don't have them so I'm going on faith...

I'm curious about the black out glass with the rear comfort package. how would you rate it compared to shades? I've got an infant and use the built in shades regularly on my current ride. Would hate to go for "suck tion" cups which I'll need if they aren't really dark.....

Also, let us know about the rear entertainment pkg. Do you find yourself leaving it in the up position all the time or is it really no big deal to fold it up when you need access to the center armrest?

And of course- Congrats on your new ride

Congrats on the new ride and congrats on being the first to post pics - only downside on being the first is that you will be inundated with Q's
Enjoy it - it looks great

The car looks great! I pick mine up on Tuesday and can't wait.

I notice the photo of the iDrive screen showing audio options it has AUX listed. Have you plugged in an iPod and, if so, what is the interface like?

First 100 miles have been great! I have not plugged in an ipod yet but it plugs into the aux input in the center console and there is also a power source outlet in there to charge it or a cell phone. I have a treo 700p and the bluetooth recognized it but it will only list the numbers in the speed dial spots and not the whole address book. I made a few calls and the sound seems OK. The rear DVD has been in the up position all the time but I could see that it would be a hassle to constantly put it up if you want to keep it in the rotated and down position. Still, there is no vibration noise from the monitor being in the up position and I will probably keep it in the up position all the time.

I made a mp3 disc (CD) last night with over 150 tunes and the disc player recognized it and plays all the songs. Interesting note is that when the list of songs appears on the iDrive screen with an indication of page down for more songs, you have to force the iDrive knob to turn further than it wants to see these other songs. However you can go thru the song list with the steering wheel controls. I did not get the premium sound but feel that the sound system sounds great.

Other questions: the color is indeed Space gray with gray interior and it looks great with the anthracite headliner. The panaramic roof is unreal in terms of the light it lets in and it will now vent without having to slide the whole liner back.

The rear shades were deleted from the order by factory and the privacy glass does a good job with light control but would preferably have wanted the shades.

The mats apparently either do not come with the X5 or just weren't available so my salesperson ordered carpeted mats and all weather mats for me at no charge. Also be aware that the saleperson did not know that the entertainment package includes two wireless headphones until I brought it up and they also had to be ordered.

Lastly, the active steering is neat. I was turning a corner today and as I turned the wheel like I would normally do, the X5 turned surprisingly quick! I will have to get used to this but I think I'll really like this option. You can't beat having the sport suspension as going home on the same twisty road was much more fun than in my A8L.

Just some highlights! Feel free to ask any other questions and I can't wait for everyone to get there X5's so we can compare notes!

Thank you for posting the pictures, pleaseeeee keep them coming!!! Did you get a chance to drive one without active steering? I am still trying to decide if I am going for that option.
