Lease Dilemma

The lease on my 2004 X5 4.4 is over next month. The new X5 leases are out the range I would ever spend on a SUV. I can buy my X5 and with the offered financing, it is very attractive. The upside of the deal is my X5 has only 20,000 miles after 3 years and I know the idiot who has been driving it.

The only other SUV I was thinking about is the RR Sport HSE since the dealer near me is having a lease special and I can lease it for $800/month. I like the looks of the RR Sport but hear that it is underpowered and not dependable.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Sounds to me like it is a fiscal decision. You would have to look at what it costs per month to buy the X5 vice leasing the RR. RR's do have bad reliability ratings but if you look hard enough, you could find the same for BMW. And as you stated, you know the previous owner

It's about $300 cheaper a month to buy the X5. The previous owner was know to detail a car he was leasing - what a fool.

Stick with the car you know and use the $300/month to buy more Zaino and self-fund the warranty! If you like the X (and what's not to like?! ), stick with the car--you have already paid for the depreciation!!

you know the car, you know who drove it and it has low mileage. Keep it except if you really want to change or if you do not like it.
