Doesn't the 7 series show exact tire pressure on each tire? I could be wrong but I swear my brother has it.

Hi,

don´t forget the previous RDC in the E53, dissapeared apr 2004, I had one of the last paid as option. Useless stuff, always broken, many fake alarms, headache when changing tires, and so on...

Then they introduced RPA for free. It works and is enough. Obviously pressure per tire like others have is nice, but´s still a gadget since I am sure nobody will trust 100%.

Best regards
ALex

I think that BMW cheaped out on this. When the light goes on, you have no idea which tire is low, or about to blow. Even my son's Jeep GC tell you exactly which tire is low. If I'm driving 70 mph on the interstate, I'm not going to panic as much if a rear tire is low, vs: a front tire.

how can they POSSIBLY NOT tell you WHICH tire is low???? If they are sensing a low tire, is it SO hard to let you know which one???

they are ridiculous for not thinking that through and offering the proper solution.

I'm fairly certain that although there is only an amber warning light in the instrument cluster that there is also a graphical display on the multi function display which shows a pictogram of an E70 with the colour coded status of each tyre.

Fastbuck is right if you go to slideshow link you will see display for low tyre pressure status on one of the pictures.

http://homepage.mac.com/kaleocarter/...toAlbum12.html

BMW UK state its a puncture warning system, I think initiated after a 25% reduction in tyre pressure. Although the display in the link shows the system as TPM showing status of all four tyres.

marcx5. This sound like an issue that really concerns you. Seems to me that taking issue with BMW about an issue that's not gonna be resolved is a bit counterproductive.

#1 "how can they POSSIBLY NOT tell you WHICH tire is low???? " That's how it is!!

#2 "is it SO hard to let you know which one??? Who knows that's how it is!!

#3 "they are ridiculous for not thinking that through and offering the proper solution." That's how it is.

Sorry to be blunt about this but perhaps there's something else that can
be solved that deserves your attention. For now find the positive. Keep smiling cause That's how it is!!

ha, cute, and i do get that. but somehow it seems there are two people working at bmw, 1) the guy who does stuff right and builds a great handling vehicle and then 2) the guy who screws things up and doesn't pay attention to details

i'm hoping, through my messages.... that bmw will fire guy #2.

On a sidenote, I think it was on the Infiniti Q45 where is took the pressure of all it's tire and told you how much psi was in each wheel in a list on the monitor...it just didn't say which pressure corresponds to which wheel.
Yeah My Mom's Town and Country had a thing on the overhead console with a minivan picture and 4 tire pressure numbers, twas cool

Your forgetting that they both have the same boss.
Hope may spring eternal but as long as humans are human
