Well this is another grey area. What I can tell you is that in Canada for 2007 it is FTM based on the ABS system, no sensors in the wheel. A new Canadian Transport Canada ruling will change this in 2008 when any new vehicle equipped with RTF will be required to have TMPS sensors in the wheels. Now for the USA thier version has the wheel sensors in the tire. So, in Canada no wheel sensors in the tire for 2007...USA models yes, they have sensors in the tires. Hope this helps (made by BERU AG). So I guess here in Canada we have a little more flexibility for replacement tires and aftermarket rims. Now only if someone would come out with some wheels that fit the new e70.

----BOTH----
Look at the E70 owner's manual pages 87-91.

Canada does NOT have the sensors in the wheels. Confirmed by BMW Canada when I talked to them last week. The owners manual is a general description of all possible features that may be installed. You will also notice that the owners manual describes auto tailgate as well. However, the option is not available yet.

Thanks guys. I guess the TPM system with wheel sensors is a bit more accurate but probably also more problematic.
