No Special Order

Found out from dealership today that BMW distribution will not special order 19 inch rims for my X5 3.0si.
I liked these rims and wanted to keep the standard soft suspension but I guess I cannot.
So the only option I was left with was to take the Sports Package !....
Production starts this week, so I accepted and took SP !

There aren't any sports package demos around here to test, so I guess I will have to wait and experience the stiffness !

I really loved the smoothness and softness of the standard susp but did NOT like the standard 18' rims.....

Now I'll be able to take corners though with a little more confidence.

Have they told you when to expect delivery?

Nice! Hope you have fun!

SP, although I haven't driven a E70 w/ one, is usually too hard for me..But it makes it a ton more sporty...And you probably don't have as many potholes in Canada...

Well I just read truex5er report that his car was due for Feb prod and hes getting it in 2-4 weeks.....I was due to get it in Mar but mine is also in prod right now ( status 12 ) and originally I had 2 weeks from yesterday to make modifications but today I get the email requesting final requirements.....

Sales cons tells me the backlog is gone and everything is running !.....

So I am quite excited now.....sales cons was great in arranging for a loaner car....2005 330xi so I can still enjoy some European flare !

Whats status 12 by the way?

I have no idea how they got me in so early, somebody must have backed out and left an open slot. I gave them the order the second week of January.

It really just depends on the dealer....

BMW OC online says "scheduled or in prodcution" for me. I don't see any status codes. Where did you get that?

Things have definitely sped up. My car new X5 was projected to be here in March...it's already at the dealer. Picking it up tomorrow...can't wait! It only took about 3 weeks.

335i2X5,

Mine is in production this week as well, the dealer says to expect to see it in early to mid-March. While I am really anxious to get my hands on it, part of me says that March would be better - I can drive my 04 X5 til then and wait until November to get snow tires (I ordered the 20" package so I won't have the no season tires).
