A couple of items I have received regarding the E70
Choosing gear 'P' in the E70:
in customer trials it became apparent, that the learned usage of the gear shift lever does not work anymore with the new gear shift lever. When the customers pressed the gear lever to the front (in former times, that was the 'P' position), the car is actually put into Reverse 'R'. So once the customer got off the brakes, the car moved backwards (worst case, the driver gets out of the car and the car moves backwards. This issue was now resolved via a software change: the car will automatically change into 'P' once the driver opens the driver's door and unfastens the seatbelt. That basically takes care of this "problem". It is still possible to open the door, keep the seatbelt fastened and to drive backwards (e.g. when the car is parked closely to the curb, many drivers choose to open the door for better visibility). (Note: for markets where its common to fasten the seatbelt by slinging the belt behind the driver's seat (so when leaving the car, its still possible that the car remains in 'R'), its necessary to tell the After Sales Managers, Trainers, Sales force etc about this issue.) Locking wheel bolts: these wheel bolts can be ordered via After Sales/Parts. Telephone with Bluetooth: This functionality can be retrofitted (for models with and without SA640) - price will be defined by VT-Z asap. Options update: NEW development: the mandatory combination of SA217 and SA2VA will remain after 04/07 for X5 3.0d until further notice. SA316 is, as communicated earlier already, postponed until further notice. note: all that might be applicable only for EU market
