USB interface available in April

I just placed my order for my 3.0d X5. The Ipod USB interface will be available in April (Code 6FL) .

i guess it would work only with mp3s that can have audio sent through usb... which really limits your choices. unless BMW will sell you a usb to 3.5mm jack adapter

If the system has USB host (which if it is anything like it's aftermarket blaupunkt brethren it will) you can put usb flashdrives into it and if it is a powered USB port (again like the rest of the blaupunkt consumer family) you can run an external USB hard drive on it

I don't know for teh US but in Europe it is a separate option .

The iPod interface is now on the BMW Canada accessories webpage -
Part #: 65410412881 $450 Canadian No word on restrictions such as no 6 CD changer. The iPod is shown in the glove box.

BMW iPod Interface Adapter Feature
The BMW iPod Interface Adapter kit includes 2 wiring harnesses and an interface box. The interface is connected to the back of the radio and a cable runs into the glove box of the vehicle. The connector located in the glove box connects to the iPod and charges the unit while connected if the vehicle is running.
