Talking Its not just about the weight

I read once on an Auzzie BMW article that aluminium hood and plastic pumpers and fenders are for pedestrian collision protection - Also known as the manslaugher protection. Also the thermoplastic bumpers are for slow speed collisions of up to 5 MPH without any damage. BMW are definitely over engineered and I like em a LOT
