Well, BMW (rightfully) charges for convenience and luxury options. To be honest, the whole process of getting in and starting the vehicle makes more sense with the option. Of course if you mean "worth it" as in value, it's not worth it. But just like power seats or "automatic soft-close doors" (7er), some people really want and expect stuff like that in a luxury marque.

Count me in. The newer BMWs are so......yawn

I'm sure you heard of the ridiculous Lane Departure Warning system that'll be available in the facelifted 5. The most absurd option ever on a BMW.

trueX5erIt's 1,000 USD. Can you program it to unlock all the doors when you touch the handle?
Yes, I have mine programmed to unlock all of the doors at once. You can change this setting through I-drive.

You don't have to put your fob in to start the car. With CA, you just carry the fob with you, grab the door handle which will simultaneously open the door and push the start button (with your foot on the brake).

Also with CA you can't lock your fob in the trunk which is a very nice option.

If you walk up to the car and try to open the back door first (rather than the drivers one) as you would when putting kids in the back then does that work.

Or do you have to open the drivers door first?

Tks
