Lightbulb CD Player working 24/7?

OK... The other night I unlocked my car and poked my head in just to take in that new car smell. While in the car.... (I was kidding about the smelling the car..) I could hear noise from the CD or NAV unit. All I did was unlock and open the door... I did not turn anything on.

I could hear a CD whirling around and the head moving about. You know the noise a CD player makes when it is searching for the next track.

I ejected the CD.. and the noise stopped. I inserted it again, closed up and locked the doors.

This morning I started up the car and the CD player began playing. I had previously been listening to Sirius so my inserting the CD switched it over. You would think that the CD would start on track 1 but.... it started in the middle of a track 3.

So it seems that the CD player was playing the song with the ignition competly off.

I have read that others had problems with the battery draining..... Could this be it? I have not had a problem yet.

On my 6, when I open the car what seems to start playing is the NAV DVD. Although I still have a problem with the cd player that plays for about 2-3 minutes between when I stop the car and when I turn the ignition again.

Yes - I have this too. I can confirm that it is from the Nav DVD. Not sure why this does this, it randomly runs. I also did get 2 service notifications of low battery. I restarted the vehicle, ran and the alarms cleared. I had it at the dealer last week for service and there where no recalls or software upgrades. I took delivery in dec 06 so i was suprised.

I also got the Battery Drain warning message today. So you have to eject the NAV DVD to fix the problem and reinsert when you need NAV?
Also the strange thing is picked my X5 on 05/15 (Tuesday) and drove about 25miles on the first day. Then it was idle for the rest of that week. Then I took it for a long drive on 05/19 (Saturday) and a short drive on 05/20 (Sunday). I had NO battery drain message. It has been idle until today (2 days). Now I suddenly get this battery drain message. I am wondering why I didn't get this on Saturday, when my car has been idle for 4days? Looks like this NAV working 24/7 is actually random?
