Just ordered an X5, have some questions

Whats up fellow X5 lovers... I just ordered the new X5 a week ago and found this forum now. I'm a first time bimmer owner. The dealer couldn't order the car with the 4.8 wheels, does anybody know if it's possible to switch the wheels out and pay the difference anywhere? Will they even fit (I heard on another forum you need different breaks and all). Does anybody have pictures of the E70 with tinted windows?

Here is what I got coming : 3.0 2007 X5 Space Grey, Black Leather Comfort Seats, Premium pkg, Sport pkg, Technology pkg, Comfort Access

Sounds nice. Don't know about the wheels.
Welcome to the board.

Thanks. Looking at another user's pictures, I may have not needed to order the comfort seats. Do the sport & premium package come with comfort seats already? The dealer didn't mention anything like that but the pics here look like it http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e70-forum/26915-new-x5.html

Just picked my Black Metallic 3.0si this past Sat. I have 20% all around. Will post pics as soon as the weather clears. I also inquired about the 20 inch wheels. You can buy them through the BMW Parts Dept. I was quoted $4200 for rims and tires.

No those are the Active Ventilated Seats, same seat you ordered w/o the "active" and "ventilated" options.

Most dealers won't do anything for you if you want different wheels. However, some have included a wheel swap with the purchase price. You would need to buy the wheels separately (hopefully at a discount) and take off the 3.0 ones when vehicle arrives. The wheels should fit with no problems.

If price is an issue, you could always wait a few months for replicas to come out. Because the e70 is so new, it may be after summer before any aftermarket stuff becomes available.

20" Wheels Require a new flare

Because of the width of the 20" wheels there is a differant, wider, flare on the wheel well. You might want to check this out.

I think the flare is the same (all X5's have the same body). The spacers are what is different...
