X5 Confort seats

Hi,

I have heard that the comfort seats option (X5 2007) is not available in the UK until further notice. Does anyone know what is happening and when it will be available ?

Many Thanks
T

Apparently the guys that make the comfort seats for BMW have gone into recievership.

At the moment from what I have seen on this forum there is no further update.

I just hope mine comes with the comfort seats I ordered I will know on the 6th April when I get my first chance to see it. A few blokes have said they got the sports seats instead when their X arrived but that was in the US

Hi there,

been a flurry of thread about this a couple of weeks ago, it was only in Canada it seemed. It has gone quiet now. I asked my dealer and it told me Comfort seats are available in the UK. My delivery date is Jun 18 so production is mid April. I would be majorly bummed if Comfort seats are not available...
Was anybody able to place an order very recently with Comfort seats?

Im sure BMW allocated certain amounts of Comfort Seat orders for each region, so although Canada/USA may be out, you in UK may still have them remaining from your allocation, despite the company going into receivership.

Comfort seats are amazing though.....!

I have an April build with Comfort seats and there's no problem.

Thanks for the reply, the comfort seats issue doesn't seem to be that consistent. i wonder if it depends on colors or if they are beign given priority combined with ventilated feature...BMW offers them on the 5 and 7 series so surely thy must have another supplier in Europe.

Since all of the X5s are made in the US what make you believe that the seats are from Europe?

I would assume they are US made for the X5 but likely EU made for the 5/7 series as both models are produced in Germany and I haven't heard of Comfort seats not being available on these models ...Nevertheless if the local production in the US has stopped it makes it WAY more difficult and costly should BMW use EU seats and the logistics involved probably mean they would withdraw the comfort seats...
In any case I hope they will remain available in the X5
