solution to the backup camera

hey everyone, dont know if this has being posted. anyways, i finally realised how to solve the problem with the backup camera. when you are using the back up camera, press down on the i drive button and a new set of menu comes up. at the bottom of the menu there is the brightness option. select that and you can change the brightness of the camera.

yes, but it only makes it look worse. Does nothing for the problem at night.

I still cannot believe tha tthe reverse lights don't give enough light for it to be useful at night. My FX45 sees great at night. I'm not looking forward to losing that part when I get my X5. Where is the camera placed on the X5? Mine is right above the license plate..

The camera is crap...I have a 5 year old $99 security camera at my house that looks 10X better.

The colors and resolution are poor in bright sunlight, at night there is literally no image. The only time the rear lights help is if you are parked 1 foot from a white wall then the reflection gives you a dim image.

PLEASE WAKEUP BWM....this is a joke! These should all be replaced at BMW's expense.

BTW-
The brightness has no effect at night...it just gives you a brighter turd.

That's very dissappointing... Every report, comparison, etc.. is that BMW's are so much more "refined" than cars like Infiniti, yet I keep reading that the FX has a better navigation system and camera, etc... Not to mention being $20k cheaper. There's no reason a $70k+ vehicle should have anything less than top of the line in its class.

This is really depressing...BMW builds great engines, and mechanical systems, but really sucks when it comes to electronics. One would think that they would recognize this weakness, and subcontract this out to people who know how to make this stuff work as intended.
