Is anyone using this feature on their E70? I just found out about it today.
I had been using the menu button to go back and forth. This is much better!
Page 18 in the manual... if interested.

Do you mean holding the Idrive knob in one direction for a few seconds to recall the last used settings for each of the 4 main idrive functions?

It took me awhile to figure this out, I have been using it for about a month.

Prior I was complaining that it was a pain to simply view the map (move down 4 levels to view map facing north)...instead of simply holding the idrive knob right for several seconds.

Yep! that's the one. Not bad, it only took me 3 months.

I thought it was odd that i have to go through several screens to go back to the last screen used. I will have to try this. That goes to show you it is worth your while to read your manual or belong to this forum.

Just say "Map"

It took me awhile to find this shortcut too.

If you have the tech package...The voice command "map" takes you straight to the map in the direction of travel without having to go down the four levels.

I really wish there was a setting that said "After XX seconds on the default iDrive screen with no activity go to the map screen"

I think the new spftware update would have the screen remain from last drive from other post I read.
