Patrick was great.
They gave 1500 off, and gave me more for my loaner than Fields would.
Sure, its small hassle getting to Schamburg, ( I live a few towns south of you),but oh well. Fields is 5 mins from me, so I go there for service.

I LOVE not having a third row. The demo I drove on the weekend before I got my car had it, and it made the interior look much worse, because the seats didn't 'extend' to the sides of the car. I have pics in my x-page.

I have an E53 X5 3.0d and love it!

The dealer I bought it from doesn't even order the 3.0i or the 4.4i unless it is specifically for a customer - the diesel is that good! In Australia the 3.0i is not available at launch - only the 3.0d and 4.8i.

You will get INCREDIBLE fuel economy and INCREDIBLE torque. If you tow then you will be VERY impressed - I can't even really feel my Four Winns 180 behind it!

They also start and stop just like petrol models - no pre-heating of glow plugs (maybe in the Chigaco winter for a few seconds) and no need to let the turbo spool down before you shut the engine down.

I think you have made a very, very smart move!

Regards,

Luke Jenner

I have 2 BMW with 3.0 Diesel (a 5 and a 7 ). I love them !
I have justrordered an X5 3.0d that I will hopefully get in June.
If I were you , I will oreder the 3.0 sd instead of the 3.0 d . (290hp is always better than 235hp).

3.0D 25% more efficient than 3.0 Si on combined cycle.

They aren't making the car with manual transmission at all. With the new generation automatics they are more fuel efficient than manuals.

I have had my 3.0d for two weeks now it is amazing, I had the previous e53 3.0d. This is so much smoother and has such power at low revs. Good choice. Leatherette seats are not an option here in South Africa, cant understand why one would take that option on this model. Think you should go leather.

Side note on the leatherette. I have it in my company X3 and we had to replace the drivers seat cushion because it was literally cracking. I would go with the leather.
