X5 order tracking
On the owner's circle website status changed like this On Order > Scheduled for Production > At preparation center! It skipped 2 stages in the middle. It has stayed in "At Preparation Center" state for nearly 7 or 8 days now Through the 1-800 number The status was lot more granular, but the final stages my car has been going through is making me wonder if the phone system is correct at all * In paint shop * Waiting for release to carrier * Released to carrier waiting for transport to port of exit - 05/08 * In transit contact BMW center - 05/09 When the car went into Released to carrier state on the phone system I talked to BMW Customer support and they told me that my car completed production and left the SC factory on 05/04. Now only my dealer can give me the status. My CA expected the car to be at the center on Friday 05/11 (today) but my X5 is not here yet. Now he says it should be here by monday. Does anyone know how the telephone tracking system works? I just can't stand the wait... |

I found the web site to be completly inaccurate and the 800 # a few days behind the actual schedule

Both the website and the #800 number are off. When you are at the #800 number, after it finishes saying stuff, hit the button that will connect you to a human. Tell the man/woman your order #/vin and they'll look it up in their computer.

I meant speaking with a human when calling the 800 # and even that was not accurate. They were at least a few days behind the actual production.

What is the 800 Number to the Factory for tracking? I ordered Dec. 30, 2009 . The dealer said the car is scheduled for build late Feb. ...8 weeks! No movement..still at On Order (112 status according to the dealer).
What is the phone number to the factory? |

1. The website it based on a 'european manufactured, trucked/train to a boat, shipped to USA, at a prep center then a truck to the dealer'... this is NOT how Spartanburg cars route.
2. USA cars are either built and sent to the spartaneburg VPC --OR-- built and then they get put on a train to the Oxnard VPC. After the VPC they are placed on a truck to the dealer. Once the car has been given to a car carrier BMW doesn't want to tell you much- they tell you to speak to the dealer. (Perhaps since it is no longer in BMW's possession and now is the dealer's car?) |
