Running Boards and Sat Radio
I wanted to see if anyone has been able to order and actually receive the running boards from their dealer? We are going on three months with our new 4.8 and I have ordered the running boards and there is no word on their availability or estimate timeframe? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated greatly! Secondly, we did not get the satellite radio on order but of course, now my wife wants to get it which is fine but can the factory system simply be plugged in? I have not been in the BMW family long enough to know how modular the electronics are. Thanks for everyones help and posts on this site, it is great! Brian

My X5 came with running boards and I have seen more with them than without. It may be that they do not have enough extra right now to ship it as an accessory.
My X5 also has SAT and the dealer said it was in the back of the car. It does tie in with I Drive but think it would be more a plug and play.

The satellite radio can be installed by the dealer. Be prepared to fork out a lot of cash. I had it installed in mine, and I ended up paying about $700 installed. That was after a substantial discount. (They told me it's normally $900.)
