Unhappy My X5 is giving a lot of errors

On the day after I picked it up it it started to give these error messages:

Name: all errors message.jpg
Views: 19774
Size: 177.2 KB

Name: 4x4 system and DSC Error.jpg
Views: 25166
Size: 183.1 KB

Name: Start assistant inactive error.jpg
Views: 10008
Size: 173.4 KB

Name: Active steering fault error.jpg
Views: 15129
Size: 184.4 KB

The DSC turns off and I loose the active steering and power steering.

It also gave twice the camera malfunction error message

I went to the dealer and they reset the system to try to solve the problem, they said that they haven't got any info from BMW on this problem
After the reset they tested it and it seemed ok. I went from the dealer to home without any problems, but when I took it for a ride it started again with the same problems
I took the car again to the dealer and he said that they will update the software but since it would take more than 600min to update everything, they will do it monday.

Anybody had this problem, or know the solution to it?

V25.2 solved all my problems... I didn't have as many as you though.

I had the same problem, turn off your car for 10 seconds then restart.

Which problems did you have?

That's what I thought the first time I saw the error since my 6 had the same problem once, but after I turned it off and then on it didn't made any difference.
Only if the car is off for like 30min the problem disappears, but as soon as I turn it on the problem can appear again in a few seconds or not show up. at all.

I'll take it to the dealer tomorrow again for the software update

I had the same thing happen. I would wait a few minutes, restart and the message was gone. It was not stored in memory (according to the BMW tech). Since the software upgrade I have not had that problem. However, I have had a fault in BMW assist. Same solution, restart and it goes away. Damn car has separation anxiety from the dealer.

Thumbs down

After 3 days at the dealer to make the sw update, they tried it and the problem persists.
They now tell me that the problem is the steering angle sensor that is malfunctioning.

They told me that BMW HQ gave them a expected delivery date of 2 weeks!!! for the sensor since it's not available at the moment.

How can a NEW car that comes with a defective part from the factory that forces the car to stop, have to wait 2 weeks for the replacement part?
UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

This is for BMW!!!!!

I never bought a AUDI again because of the problems I had with their weak customer support. BMW is going the same road.

My car was delivered on the 10th of May, and I will only have it it full working condition a month later!!!!!

that sucks, man, i feel for you. The X5 is in high demand, and I guess they had to build them fast. What loaner did they give you?

Hi. I'm from Singapore and this is my very first post. I presently own ta my 2006 M6 and a my 2005 545. I'm awaiting for the E70 to be launched here before I make the decision to buy one. Right now it is almost a certainty that the E70 will replace my 545.

Regarding the steering angle sensor problem, I had it when my M6 was just afew weeks old. It is really a hassle because this is a coded part which has to come from BMW HQ. However, may I suggest that you get your dealer to cannibalise the part from one of their showroom cars and replace once your part arrives. It works; its just whether your dealer wants to or not. Try suggesting.
