BMW 2008 engine news ?

Now I own an X3 3.0d and I want to "upgrade" to X5, but the existing motors are under the competition (Porsche, Mercedes ML)

In 2008 BMW must bring new engines to the table, but I cannot find any informations o this..

Ex:
Diesel
3.0 SD or 4.5D (from 7 series)

Petrol
V10 5l (from M)

Any news ?

Have to say I disagree that the existing engines are under the competition. Compare the performance of the ML 320 CDI with the X5 3.0d. The X5 is quicker, more economical and has better emissions as an example. The new 3.0 sd according to an article in this months BMW Car magazine going to have an output of 300 bhp+ so in a higher state of tune that other models in the BMW range...may not be available until Q4 or Q1 2008 though.
