HID xenon (not filament) Light - Corona Rings + Fogs

Hi,

I have 2 quick questions about the E70

1) In regard to the corona halo (parking lights) - they have a H8 bulb light source. Has anyone attempted to change the light source to HID (High Intensity Discharge) xenon - as opposed to your blue bulbs that give a white light.??

If so is this a complicated process due to space/limitations of accessing the bulbs, thus putting the ballast somewhere??

2) Lastly if you change the Halo lights to HID, Could the car also accomodate HID H11's for the fog lights, that is both Corona + Fogs would be HID, and thus 2 hid kits being added to the existing factory setup

Hope this doesnt sound strange, I can clarify my self upon requests, but all feedback, points to relevant info, will be highly appreciated.

Thank you

i've installed both rings and fogs with white filament bulb..for rings, i am not suggesting you to use HID kit because it is too bright..so it will look weird..however, for the fog light is going to look good though...
two HID kit is not strange =) most of my friend's cars had both HID

thanks mate.

Though, i am just interested, to know if adding 2 kits could be an issue???,

because there is already HID present in the low beams so, really if I had all 3 - ie

1) low beam - hid (factory)
2) corona rings - hid (after market)
3) fog lights - hid (after market)

there shouldnt be any technical / mechanical issues ??

(oh and i do see your point about the halo rings looking too bright/slightly weird)....

The only thing I may be concerned with is the computer and possible voltage issues with the sensors that tell you if you have a burnt out light. This vehicle has extensive electronics that it might create malfuctions from the computer. Just a thought.

yeah im affraid yes..if you want, just change the fog light to HID and wait for a couple more month and sure they will have the after market ring that similar to the E46 3 series ( it looks bright on both side)..=)
