Please help, has anybody installed this ipod interface. Is it fully functional with IDrive, can you view all the songs on the monitor. I have an apointment to have it fitted and also wonder if the BMW agent will damage something in the process.
Your comments will be greatly appreciated. |

I have the factory installed interface and so far works well (just got the cable/adapter for it Thursday, was supposed to come with the car but did not). You control the iPod through the iDrive with basically the same menu as you have on your iPod, search by songs, genres, artists, playlists, etc...
I have the premium sound as well and it sounds excellent. |

I decided not to do the installation. The dealer said I would be the first e70 they would have and I am afraid they will damage something in the process. In the meantime I am playing the Ipod with a cable to the AUx, it sounds good. I also have the premium sound.

Probably not a bad idea to wait until they've done a few and know what they're doing... It's definitely worth it to be able to use the iPod through the iDrive, though, whenever you're comfortable they can do it without screwing anything else up. Not sure how complicated the installation is..
