If you're ready to buy that factor could clinch it for you. I had another thought: What's the weight difference between the 3.0 and the 4.8? The brake size and power difference might be somewhat offset by the weight difference. The E53 has about a 300 pound weight difference between the 3.0 and 4.4 so....

If you can wait until November not only might there be an option of 3.5 but maybe a diesel. Also, I was at my dealer yesterday and they are going to finishing construction on a brand new huge facility and they have a plan to offer some nice grand opening specials. I don't know what they'll be but that wait could coincide with new engine choices down the road.

i am purchasing a e70 3.0d in new delhi, india. it is being imported from USA. my dealer said that he will get a shipment of e70s from usa end october early november.

so since they are all being produced in america, i presume they will be on sale in the american market as well.

cheers

The dealer had both on the lot, I drove the 3.0 and it was just fine, all I needed, better mileage, etc. The price of the 4.8 was insanely higher (I thought).

Later in the day I drove the 4.8, I can't really remember why, as it was jsut too much more money, more gas....

I ended up with the 4.8.

There's nothing wrong with the 3.0. but if you dont' want to end up with the 4.8, don't drive it!
