Bulletin regarding Steering Wheel Memory

Took the X5 in for a problem with the steering wheel memory (wheel will not auto lower/rise). Tech said BMW has issued a TSB regarding this and it's software related. Expect a fix in September.

Does your wheel never auto up/down or just not work some of the time?

My wheel seems to go up every time...but only comes down automatically about 60% of the time. If I press the seat memory button it goes back downto the correct spot.

I'm guessing for a TSB it's a common issue.

Thumbs up Here's the TSB info

TSB SI B 32 02 07 General Electrical Systems
Subject Electric Steering Column Adjustment Malfunction
E70 (X5)
Defect Code 32 31 15 12 00

Steering Column does not move down when the engine is started

States "Software fix is expected approximately September 2007)

If I had a scanner I'd post it. If someone has a fax and a scanner I'll fax it to them and they can post it.
