Help, Need Nokia 6233 Cradle for E70 - Australia

Hi Fellow Forum Members,

Can someone help me out, I have a new X5 I pick up tomorrow and it comes with a Nokia 6233. The only trouble is there are no cradles available until the end of July, BMW have run out. You would think that every nokia phone BMW got they would make sure they had cradles for there new cars.

Is there someway I can buy a cradle from a dealer in the USA, they will not sell me one direct as they do not ship International, is there any other way I can purchase one, I can pay via Paypal or Visa etc, any ideas? do you know a dealer that may ship Internationally to Australia?

It works fine without the cradle. Pairs through bluetooth etc. It is just that it won't charge which is usually fine as the battery life is long enough if you charge from home.

I'm just waiting until my cradle comes in late. In fact I suspect I won't even use it much as it is hidden away under the armrest which is a bit inconvenient.

What model do you have? Our's didn't come with a phone.

Still waiting on a titanium grill ordered over a month ago. What's happening with BMW and spare parts.

Well in 45min I pick up my new X5, I bought a second 6233 Nokia with BMW cradle new for $369.95 on Ebay as I am getting a phone with the X5 but they have no cradles at present. When my cradle from BMW shows up I will sell it.

They also installed the towbar, they cut out a section of the rear bumper, what a mess, so they have ordered a new bumper and are getting a special template made and a plastic surround. My dealer complained to BMW Melb that cutting out part of the bumper made it cheap looking so BMW Melb are going to cover the cost of getting it done properly, anyway thats what the dealer is telling me.

The Aero Kit is being painted and will go on next week. At 12.00 noon today the V8 exhaust tips are being installed and the Stainless Steel pedals are already on.

It will be interesting to see how it drives with Active Steering & Adaptive Drive with self-levelling suspension and 20" wheels.

Talk soon

Hi Mate,

Just got back from a weekend at the beach house, the new X5 handled the beach well. Will take some photos tomorrow. The exhaust tips look good.

If you want to put chrome exhaust tips on you need to buy one oval holden tip and one oval ford tip because that gives you left and right angles. You take out the plastic incerts that are around the diesels exhaust pipes and the you need cut a small piece off the tailpipes and weld the new tips on. They weld thenm from inside the tip opennings so worry about melting any plastic. They look exactly like the BMW V8 tipes.

And by the way that adaptive drive is great, hunting around corners the X5 keeps dead level, I mean it does not lean over at all in sports mode.

Talk soon

PS. I finished off the area around the towbar myself unti such time the dealer get the new towbar and does the mode, I will be suprised if they do it any better than I have done?
