Painted Upper and lower mesh grilles

I've got a 3.0 diesel on order and I didn't get the full sports kit. I'll replace the kidney grilles with titanium ones when the car arrives... The car is Sapphire Black .. What my question is ...has anyone just the painted middle grille underneath the kidney grilles (silver or titanium) and left the lower grille black ? I think this would give a great look (on Black).. has anyone does this... ?

Thanks

You could always fit the official BMW one as per the oem link below:

Hi, If you have the sports pack on the diesel the upper & lower grills are silver, so if you have orderred the siver kidney grills everything will be the same colour, there should be no need to paint.

I didn't get the full sports kit only some of it separately.. I think I'll get OEM grilles and experiment... I think I'll change the middle grille (much easier to change !!) and leave the bottom as black and see how that goes... I think that will look pretty sharp on my black X!

Hi Jamesboags, I don't know if you have Xenon lights but I do, so I have orderred new bulbs for my angle eyes (H8 4740k) to get rid of the yellow look because my Xenons are so white. Also orderred new fog light bulbs (H11 4750k) as well, again standard fogs are yellow looking.

Got them from www.bosimporting.com.au/ in Melbourne, around $80 for the two full sets. I did the same on my old X5, even if you don't have Xenons lights I still always change the light bulbs so to get that white look.

Put my Nokia cradle in last night, BMW is still out of stock, managed to buy a brand new Nokia 6233 and cradle on ebay for $369.00 so now I have a spare phone. When the cradle shows up from BMW I will probably sell it. I think they sell them for around $190.00.

When do you get your X5.

I am still waiting for my silver kidney grills, ex Germany another 3 weeks!, the dealer says I should just paint them but it is to much trouble to go through, I will just have wait a little longer.

I'll take a look at those lights I do have xenons and adaptive... presume the globes are ok for adaptive in the fogs ? Are they easy to change ..? I'll take a look as I am sure there are instructions here somewhere ...!!

My X arrives 14/7 !!! Should be in my hands late July !!!

Cheers.
