As I understand it, you are adjusting the comfort zone setting for your "upper body region". You can make it much warmer then the auto temperature setting (4 red bars) to much cooler (4 Blue bars).

great work X5FX! I'll make that the first thing I configure on my car when I pick it up next week. IT's 110 in phoenix now and I'll need the most I can get from it!

Good find!

This adjustment merely serves as a driver preference to adjust against the temperature setting. My 4.8 has been set to coolest (blue bars) since delivery of car 7,500 miles and has had no impact on the poor airflow or failure to properly cool the cabin. The problems as noted on this board are fan speed, quanity of air and delivery points of the air from the front dash, particularly the failure to deliver air to the mid to lower areas on a consistent basis. I have seen this complaint posted on several boards all relating to the new e70. BMW has no response and unlike many of the other issues where tsbs have been issued, there has not been one yet on this issue.

Once I made this change the air flowing out of the side vents is now as great as the center vents....it is a significant difference! The car now cools. Did you make this setting for both driver and pass sides?

I am in Louisiana where it has been averaging 94 w/ 100 percent humidity and the difference is night and day with this adjustment.

Yes. I have had the setting for both since taking delivery of the car. I am in Bham, AL with similar heat and humidity. This is how I demonstrated it to my dealer. Put all settings to full speed, turn on max cool at 60 and note that the air bairly blows to your face from the center. Does not even move hair. Tried it in 3 e70s at dealership and found same issue with all 3. Lexus gx and mercedes e have no problems with air flow or cooling/heating.

Thats weird, on the max setting (the button on the far right) mine is like a wind tunnel...air is ice cold and blows my toupee off (actually I dont have a wig, but if I did it would have blown off). The problem though is that it sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel...the noise is unbearable.

I use this setting when I first get in the car to cool it down, then gradually back off....now that I have solved my problem I should be able to just switch to auto.

I'll let you know how its going after today, my first real day to test this as I just discovered this yesterday evening.

It just drives me crazy to see all you folks troubleshooting the E70 and I don't even have mine yet. I'm trying to familiarize my self with all these issues so I'll be ready when I get mine. I just appreciate all of you who spends the time sharing all these valuable information.

I want my E70!!!
