No twin turbo diesel engine in U.S. until 2009

Per BMW Magazine, "BMW of North America recently announced that it will import moels powered by BMW's impressive, award-winning diesel engines beginning in MY Year 2009. Previously, the only turbocharged diesel model available in the United States was the six-cylninder 524td during the mid-1980s. Although specific details have yet to be disclosed regarding which models and engines will be offered, diesel enthusiasts welcomed this news."

What? We have to wait in the U.S. for 2009 models before we can get a dielsel X5?

Ridiculous.
