E70 6 CD changer?

Hey,

Weighing new car options, and cannot seem to find this anywhere - does the new 3.0 come standard with a six disc? I know you can get it with the $1800 Premium Sound package, but we do not want that package.

If it does not come standard, can it be ordered stand-alone as on the E53?

Thank you.

In the UK it does not come as standard. Do you not have an online BMW configurator or spec list on the US website? In the UK we can go to www.bmw.co.uk and it will show the full standard and optional spec (with prices per option). You can go to the online configurator and add all your options and see the price on screen as you go along.

In the UK it is a standalone option (SA672), but it appears that it can only be added as part of a package in the US configurator. I would have a word with your sales advisor to see if he can make it happen.

Personally I would not bother with the CD Changer. We only got it because it came as part of the media package, and it made no sense to spec the media pack options (satnav, bluetooth) individually, because it was more expensive than picking the pack that came with the free CD player!

I would instead opt for (as we did aswell, and our CD changer remains empty...) the USB port. We have a 16Gb Memory stick which just plugs in to the centre console full of MP3s, which works great - plus you get all of your folders and track lists displayed on the iDrive. CDs are dead, this is 2007 ... !!!

Yeah, i'm an mp3 fan as well but to dismiss the cd changer is crazy. 60 grand car with only a single cd/dvd? Just get it.

In the US as far as I know it is only available as part of the premium sound package. $1800 which includes the six CD chnager in the glove box plus upgraded speakers and power.
