Tomorrow I pick up my X5 and supposed to have both the iPod issue and the DVD rear entertainment fixed.. IF SO, I will be sure to post what those fixes are, so you can talk to your SA's.

Went and checked my car just now & the USB audio is working again... I notice that as soon as I unlock the car the USB flash drive light flashes as well... That wasn't happening when it stopped working...!!!

Will the Ipod/Usb adaptor work with another mp3 or music player and show the albums, etc. in the IDrive display? Or do you have to buy and IPod to have the full display funtionality in the IDrive?

I've used flash drives and you can browse by genres etc.. I am not sure about other players.. it all depends I think on the USB connection method of the device.. if the connect via the USB mass storage option then you should be able to step through the mp3's in a directory type structure.. if however the player uses a proprietary software and storage system you will not be able to ...

I just received my car last Friday. The iPod adapter works fine. I can access all my iPod playlists, albums, artists, songs, etc. through the iDrive controller. It plugs into both the aux. and USB plug. Comes with a cable from BMW to plug into your iPod. BTW bluetooth with my iPhone works great as well.

There's a picture of the iDrive interface in this thread; did your M5's iPod kit connect to your iPod via USB?
