My 3 week old X5 was just totaled

I was just involved in a head-on collision yesterday in my three-week old 2007 X5 3.0. The closer rate was at least 80 MPH when the other driver crossed the yellow lines and struck me at a head-on driver offset in her Ford Taurus. The X5 flipped over coming to a stop on the roof after sustaining tremendous damage. I did not lose consciousness during the event and found myself upside down still strapped in. Please see the attached photos of the X5. I was rushed to the Hospital and after CT-Scan, was released 5 hours later. The X5 was amazing. It performed exactly as it was designed to perform under such an immediate forceful impact. I have soreness in the neck, back and shoulders with some minor glass abrasions but over all, I walked away. I have already contacted my BMW Salesman to place an order for another X5 which I hope to receive in 2 months.

It is good to see that you are ok. The X5 (E53 and E70) is an incredibly safe vehicle. You're living proof. Hope the person on the Taurus faired well.

Oh My Gosh! Thank god you are ok! That looks like a horrible crash! It looks like the crumple zones and airbags did thier job. It looks like the roof held up well, and the curtain airbags deployed too. Did the seat mounted airbags go off too? Do you have pics near the the passenger area/inside?
Thank god you were in the X5, it saved your life! How is the lady in the ford?

Thx, i was actually able to crawl out once i released the seatbelt. I then fell to the roof and suffered cuts to the hands from all of the glass. BMW Assist contacted me via the speakers immediately asking for my status and alerting emergency personal. I hung upside down for about 10 minutes as the police would not help me out of the vehicle. They preferred to wait for EMT but i was freaking out with confined space, blood rushing to my head and the pain in my shoulder due to all my weight being supported there via the seat belt.

The lady in the ford was admitted with either a broken colar bone or fractured sternum. She also has mental issues as well based on her conversation with EMT i overheard since we were taken to hospital in the same ambulance! We were also put in rooms side-by-side in the emergency room. Not a great move if tempers were to flare between families. I have no idea why she crossed the medium. The attached are th only interior shots my wife took yesterday. I will get more in the next few days when I get the rest of my stuff out the truck.
