General USB (6FL) Question

I have a couple of questions about the USB 6FL option that perhaps somebody can help with.

In Ireland we have a "Media Package" which includes Bluetooth, Sat NAV and a 6 CD changer. If I get the 6FL option will I need to remove the CD changer?

Does the 6FL option allow you to control the IPod from the steering wheel?

Does the track info display on the radio?

I guess I am wondering if the 6FL option provides all the same options/controls as the custom IPod cable that BMW dealers fit in the glovebox.

I just cant seem to find any real info about 6FL functionality on the net.

6fl will not remove cd changer. You can skip tracks from the steering wheel. You can use flash drives (I have used a 16gb Corsair drive) You need to control other functions via idrive. Track info does display on the screen. I can't comment on the other ipod option. I haven't as yet used my ipod ( I managed to get the cable free !) ...

If you use it with an iPod full ipod info shows up on the screen, you can ever browse using song, artist, album etc just like an ipod. it fits in the center storage compartment by the shifter where the aux input is instead of the glovebox, that's why you can have both CD and ipod.

You will get all track infos as long as you have the ID3 tags on your audio files. You may use an iPod, an MP3 player, a USb stick whatever you like... the control functions are the same.
This USB hub is awesome and I recommend it to everybody.

Regards

Christian
