Headlight adjustment for driving in France
I have an X5 3.0d with Adaptive Headlight and High Beam Assist options. The headlights are Xenon. I am having difficulty finding out how to adjust the lights so I can drive on right hand side of the road in france. I took the car to my dealer and they checked back of lights for a switch, but couldn't find one :-( I am wondering whether the fact that I have High Beam Assist and/or Adaptive Headlight options if this means that car automatically adjusts when lights are dipped and driving on right side of road ?
Does any body have any experience of this problem, and know a solution ? Thanks, Tim |

Hi,
I am not sure what the situation is like with E70, but with E53, you have to find a lever, which is very deep inside the lamp cover. It is easier to find it on your right headlamp. If possible use a vanity, or better dentist's mirror to look it up. I don't think your headlights will automatically adjust. The switch you'll find kills the asymetric beam, giving you lower efficiency and making "right hand drive friendly" at same time. Cheers MartyX5 |
