Best way to get satellite radio on E70?

when I purchased the car I thought it comes with satelite radio or HD radio (I don't see either one of them). What's the best way to go about adding one of these services to my E70? I don't like the channels with all the same songs and commercials....... thanks!!

So you assumed you got one or both, or you did get one or both (according to the window sticker?) but just can't access them?

I thought I heard the radio commercial say satellite radio now comes on all BMWs. That's it - but it's not in the entertainment menu in idrive so I guess it is an add on.

I think it would say "available" on all BMW's, but not standard equipment. We have it, but it was a $500 add on (just like HD radio, which we did not get).

Exactly...

The commercial most likely advises that with BMW vehicles... you can get Sat Radio and HD Radio.

These are not standard and you must pay for them since they are accessories. I know that if you get the HD radio... you lose the Traffic reporting feature.

I ordered my car with Sat radio from the factory. Took the 1 year free and rolled it into a lifetime subscription.

You no longer have to give up real time traffic if you order HD Radio. My X5 3.0 had every option except Active Steering and I had HD Radio and RTTI. It was a glitch early on that BMW fixed. Apparently, if your X5 was the early release, there is no retro fit unfortunately.
