Yet More Questions About the Aero Kit...

Taking delivery of the X on Saturday but have a couple of Q's for y'all...

I am seriously considering the Aero Kit but can't get a straight answer from my dealer how much it will cost and what parts are included - so I come here, to the arm-chair experts and rabid X fans that we all are...

1. Dealer mentioned 12 pieces - does anyone know exactly what pieces are included?
2. My X is a 4.8i and has the 20" rims and running boards - are there parts in the kit that I won't need (I read somewhere that wheel arch flares are in the kit but are also already on the 4.8 w/ 20's)?
3. Can individual pieces of the kit (i.e., the front and back lower bumper pieces) be purchased separately?
4. Quote from dealer is approx $3200 including parts, labor and paint. Can anyone reccomend other sources (wholesalers or such) that I may be able to get the kit and installation cheaper (I am in the NYC area)?

Sorry for the laundry list -- can't wait to pick up the X!!! will post pics from the dealer this weekend....and after my carefully selected forthcoming mods!

#4 That's about $1000.00 more than I paid... You can do better.
#3 As far as I know, you can't. (May have changed)
#1 12 pieces is correct. Front and back. NOT sure on flares?

Body Shop Reccos?

Anyone have a recco for a qualified paint/body shop in the NYC area? Would like to avoid going to dealer for aero kit paint and install....

I have a place in Staten Island that can handle the work no problem. They do a lot of the aero kits for the dealers in the area.

All your answers here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...67&hg=51&fg=95

1. 13 pieces as shown in the diagram attached. Double count the lower front and lower rear parts (left/right)

2. Flares and running boards are not in the lit as shown in the diagram. If you have factory fitted 20inch, I suppose you have the flares. They are not in the kit anyway. But if you don't have them, you or dealer must put them (separate items)

3. Yes, part numbers are shown, but dealer will not sell you individual part numbers first time. You need to prove you have the kit in whole to justify
why you need individual parts (replacement or damaged)

4. No comment....

Enjoy !

I think you mean Morristown BMW.

And this thread is ancient.

I think people are getting mixed up between the Aero Pack which is simply 2 pieces and the M Tec ( Europe M Sport ) pack that the link above seems to indicate.
