BMW SAV sales for August 2007
Sales of BMW Sports Activity Vehicles increased by 6.9 percent in August to 5,737 vehicles over the 5,368 sold last August. Year-to-date, sales of BMW Sports Activity Vehicles are up 6.7 percent, to 42,132 vehicles compared to the 39,474 sold in the first eight months of 2006.

If you read the table, you'll notice that BMW sold less X5s in Aug. 2007 than in Aug. 2006 (2556 vs. 3017), so that' partly true…

Yes they are down. They are not just down, but lagging behind ML sales, and the Audi Q7 is catching up so is the GX470.
So, compared to the competition, the X5 is not doing so great- it seems to have lost its mojo.

Its X5 3.0si vs ML which is hitting X5 sales. Besides MB has been offering some promotions in July - August which bumped there sales.
